Recipe: Home-Made Granola.

I love granola, but I don't like the added sugars and all the not-so-healthy things
that companies add to the granola in order to make it last longer - yuck. Last week,
I decided to give this recipe a shot and make my very own granola in the simplest
way possible. Wanna have a read?

What do you need?

  • 100 grams of oats
  • 150 grams of nuts (I used pecans, walnuts, cashews,...)
  • some chia seeds
  • 3 tbsp of agave syrup/ 1 tbsp of honey

How?

  • Preheat your oven at 175° celsius. Take a baking tray and some baking paper, so you mixture doesn't stick.
  • Weigh your ingredients.
  • Break up the nuts.
  • Add the nuts to the oats.
  • Add in your agave syrup and honey and mix together.
  • Spread your mixture on the baking tray evenly, but keep in mind the layer has to be quite thin. Remember to not put the chia seeds in the mixture at this point, otherwise they will burn.
  • Put your granola in the oven for about 10 - 15 minutes at the same heat, but keep checking it. It should get a nice brown colour and smell delicious! Add your chia seeds 1 minute before you take it out of the oven.
  • Let your granola cool down for half an hour and you're ready to serve and munch.

P.S. Go ahead and taste the mixture when it's still a bit hot, it taste so good!
