Fig & Date Energy Balls.

I love me some figs and dates. I'd probably better move to a country where I can grow my own fig trees and date palms, but hey, for the time being, I'll just plunder the supermarkets! Today, I'm showing you guys a super easy recipe for these energy balls, which just make the perfect sweet, but healthy snack! Wanna have a read?

The Ingredients:

  • 4 pitted dates
  • 4 dried figs
  • 15 grams of oats (you can use whichever type you have on hand)
  • 1-2 teaspoons of cacao powder - depending on how chocolatey you want them to be
  • shredded coconut as garnishment
  • optional: 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

The Directions:

This is thàt snack which you can put together in minutes and enjoy them right away. Slice your dates en figs in tiny pieces or just throw them in the blender for convenience. Add your oats, cacao powder and vanilla extract and roll your mixture into balls. If things get sticky, run your fingers under some water and continue. Last but not least: roll them in whichever topping/garnishment you like: I chose some shredded coconut but you can get creative here.

This recipe will give you 10 small energy balls, so don't be afraid to double the recipe if you have some hungry friends coming over!

  1. Super great recipe!! Nice and quick, really good snack to keep you going throughout the day, I didn’t have any almond butter so substituted in peanut butter. Just as good!!
